Happy New Year

Who would have thought the end of year would come round so fast.  We had a great Christmas and the predicted rain stayed away.  Tonight is suppose to be fine too here in Nelson, so hopefully we can have that BBQ as arranged.

What ever you are up to and who ever and how you celebrate the start of a new year, hope all your dreams, idea's, plans and goals come true for you in 2014.

Happy New Year!

I'm back ...

Surely it can't have been that long since I've made a blog post.  Actually logging in just now, I nearly forgot how it all works.

Wow it's been busy - the shop, the website and life in general.  It all seems to be flying past so quickly.  Feel like I should be buying Easter Eggs not Christmas Present.

Hope you've all got your list sorted and working through them.  I seem to be adding things faster than I'm ticking them off.

CHRISTMAS SHOP HOURS and ORDER DELIVERIES

This is just a quick reminder that the physical Shop at 5 Peppin Ave, it's last day this year is the 18th December and will re-open on the 14th January 2014.  Of course the Website will still be available to order from.  If you are wanting items for Christmas, do keep in mind that the Couriers will be busy and with one Cook Strait Ferry out of operation the freight to the North Island may take a little longer.  If you are after last minute things for Christmas, I would advise that Friday the 20th December would be your last day to place a website order so it's in time for placing under the Tree.

If your wish list stretches to a Silhouette Cameo, I have three machines soon to be in stock.  So if you want to start hinting to the nearest and dearest we can arrange for one to under your tree.  A shipment of Silhouette products are soon to arrive along with other items that I need to get on the website.

Hope all your preparations are well under way (in your mind anyway).

Pressy Time!

My good friend recently turned 40!
That's all good, but she doesn't do birthday cards.
So what do you give someone who doesn't do cards from a cardmaker!

A Mini Card

Made a little envelope from a Sizzix Die and popped in a mini card.
The doily & felt numbers are cut from Dienamic Die's & the butterflies are Martha Stewart Punch!

Great thing was she was rapt & commented on how much work I must have put into it.
It was popped onto a gift bag, with a paper doily and the bag was filled with Russian Fudge (her favourite) & a couple of gift vouchers so we can go shopping together.

New Charms & Resin Flowers

It's a wet weekend, and although we need the rain, I'm a bit of a sun lover.  Rain does mean I can catch up on computer things and this week I've been adding new charms and resin flowers to Scrap Box NZ shop.

These are wonderful and include some lovely antique style keys, bird cages, birds, tea pots and coffee cups etc.  Have a look at the full range here

The new resin contain flowers of different shapes and sizes, also doves & owls you'll find them here

Hope your weekend is going well - despite the rain!

Easter Sunday

saw Brooke & I up at 6.30am to head off to the Easter Fair in Mapua, about 15mins outside of Nelson.  Mapua Easter Fair is one of the largest in the South Island and had 330 stalls this year. It's a fundraiser for the Mapua School and Playcentre.

The day started off with very heavy rain, but watching the weather forecasts for days before they promised it would clear late morning. As we were driving to the Fair just before 8am it surely didn't look like it would go ahead, but there were lots of hardy soles already set up when we arrived. We sat in the Ute on our site, in the rain and waited for the skies to turned blue about 9 o'clock and we set up.  It got very windy and Brooke's job become a human anchor to hold the gazebo. A few things blew away, but we survived right through to 4 o'clock when the skies threaten rain again and we packed up fast.

Above is a photo of our stall, which was busy all day.

This is my youngest Paige getting her hand painted with a Henna pattern.
It stays on for up to two weeks (depending how often she washes !!!)

Despite the weather it turned out to be a very successful day and lots of fun!

MME Lost and Found 3

Here's my eldest a year ago, looking sweet in a photo taken by Steve Hussey http://www.stevehussey.co.nz/

The MME Lost and Found 3 range is just stunning.  I have used some of my fav products from Scrap Box NZ.

I was pleased to find the Prima Crystals, which include darling little crowns.  Good value at just over $4 per pack.

I used vellum to matt the photo for a softer effect and Bazzill antique paper for the frill.

In addition to the above products, I have used the following from Scrap Box NZ:
Vintage bird cage charm, Maya Road mini ticket and vintage flag pin, Kaisercraft pearls, and my Silhouette Cameo (to make the paper birdcage, banners and flourish).

Favour Bag

Hi there- Sally here.  School's back after 7 and a half weeks (!?!) and I enjoyed a bit of 'me' scrapping time yesterday.  It felt good to be doing something creative and to have some breathing space if you know what I mean.  The holidays were great though and on the whole we have had pretty good weather in the top of the South.

So a favour bag to share today.  Something simple and sweet, ready to be filled with a few goodies.  Valentines Day treats perhaps?

Most of the products used can be found at SB NZ:
Aqua Polka Dot Bag, Rose Petal Seam Binding, Silver Locket Charm, Green Tara Flower and Tiny Leaves, Maya Road Trinket Pin- Pearl Butterfly, Basic Grey Patterned Paper, vellum and Silhouette Cameo (pin wheel and banners).

New papers ...

I've just been loading some papers from My Minds Eye Lost & Found 3 collection into Scrap Box NZ shop.  Wow they are so nice.  The colours, glitter details and design are going to help you make some amazing layouts.  They would be great for cards too.

Just love the blue of the "Oliver" papers along with the gold glitter is gorgeous.  Can see some really neat male pages done with these.

So too are the "Ruby" papers - Soft pink with lace and roses.  I didn't get the whole collection but just chose  the favourite ones and I'm sure when you see them you will agree they are gorgeous.

Check them out here and see if you agree I've made a good selection!!!

Back to work ...

Unfortunately holiday's can't go on forever!  Wish they could, but the money's got to come from somewhere and I still haven't found the money tree in the back yard.

Sent my husband back off to work and the swimming lesson's started today, so in our household it was a rude awakening with us all up early - gone are the sleep-ins and lazying around.

I'll be back into it tomorrow with Scrap Box NZ shop open again.  It's been a lovely break, but in the last week with The Craft & Hobbies Association on at the moment in America, I'm getting heaps email's.  Below describes what the CHA is all about:

The CHA 2013 Winter Conference & Trade Show is much more than just another show. It’s the annual gathering of a close-knit community of creative professionals who come together to buy, learn, network and collaborate. In just four days, the show will bring together thousands of buyers and craft professionals from across the country and around the world ready to buy and source from exhibitors carrying products that range over 100+ categories.

I have already seen lots of great collections and new inspiration to get you all back into scrapbooking and card making.  Receiving emails from my suppliers with lots to tempt us all.

Hope your year has started well and you are all enjoying the summer!
