Stash

It's great using up stash isn't it? Just feels kinda satisfying and resourceful. Let's face it, in a few years when we're looking back on our albums we're not going to notice! So yes this is a layout using a bit of stash. I used a sketch from 'Pencil Lines' for inspiration. I have given the photo some added pop by using 3D magic mount.

Isn't the 'wise owl' a little cutie- and great value for $2.30. http://www.scrapboxnz.co.nz/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2454

Scrap Box NZ products used: Basic Grey and Fancy Pants PP, Basic Grey embellies, Pink Paislie and Cosmo Cricket alphas, Wise Owl Chipboard, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Color Box Ink, Jenni Bowlin buttons, Baker's Twine.

Winner for the sketch challenge

Wow, sorry this is late, but had a very busy day with the shop open yesterday and couriers to be packed up. Anyway really pleased to announce the judges have choosen:

Nic Cotterill

There comments were that they liked that is was an interesting variation on the sketch and that the sketches serve as inspiration and can be altered. The layout stood out to them and I like the brown theme (monochrome??) going on. Good layering.

Congratulations Nic - email fiona@scrapboxnz.com for the details of your $20 voucher.

Just had a questions last night about the next challenge "It's a number's game" -

QUESTION: just wanted to check if we can add other things to our layout or if it has to be just the things listed.

ANSWER: YES you can add other things, but your layout must include the things in the list.

Have fun putting it together.

Celebrating!

Using this paper http://www.scrapboxnz.co.nz/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2551 from the Little Boy range by Echo Park, I made Mr 2's party invites.

LOVE my Color Box chalk ink pad for distressing edges. Wouldn't be without it. I also used some of Scrap Box NZ's ribbons for the tags.

Yes it's all about little engines at the moment. I like adding an educational touch to young children's cards by putting the age they're turning on the front and the number of objects to correspond (i.e 2 trucks).

Did you know that today is ...

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY

and most countries the world over celebrate on the 1st of June each year. Children's day is a coincidence of two important events that took place in 1925.

The first was the World Conference for the well-being of children in Geneva and at the same time the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco was gathering Chinese Orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. Since both of these incidents had the well-fare of children at their core, 1st of June became International Children's Day.

Just like our own Children's Day here in New Zealand (which is celebrated on the 1st weekend in March), it is recognized as a day of activities, that start new traditions as well as continue old ones. Over 500 activities were registered to celebrate Children's Day in New Zealand
