Why do we need Leap Years?

Leap Years are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the Earth's revolutions around the sun. It takes the Earth 365 days and 6 hours (a tropical year) to circle once around the Sun.

However, the Gregorian calendar has only 365 days in a year, so if we didn't add a day on February 29 nearly every 4 years, we would lose almost six hours off our calendar every year. After only 100 years, our calendar would be off by approximately 24 days!

Happy Wedding Anniversary to my sister - 20 years today or is that 5 years married!

Enjoy your extra day!

Christchurch - we remember with you

So many memories, lots of heartache,
people to support, sharing, compassion,
encouragement and moving forward.

Today heaps of emotions and time of healing.
To all in Canterbury, our thoughts are with you
One Year On ...

Cupcakes

Hello. Sally here. A belated 'Happy New Year'. I am back at last- and it's almost March.  How did that happen?

Hopefully you're finding some time for crafting.  I am finding it a bit easier to, now that school's back.

First up today is a treat bag.

I used a Silhouette Cameo to die cut the cupcake.  Fiona can get these fabulous machines in for you.  Other Scrap Box NZ products used:  Dotty paper bag, small doily, Maya Road star pin and Color Box Stamp Pad.

Below- a sneak peek of a layout coming soon.

Echo Park

Such a lovely collection of papers, in pinks, black & white. Was hoping these had arrived for Valentines Day, but that was not so. Never mind, you can use them now on layouts, cards and otp creations to document Valentines Day instead. Check them out here!

Roses just for you ...

I wrote your name in the sky,
but the wind blew it away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves washed it away.
I wrote your name in my heart
and forever it will stay.

Wow has it been that long !!!

I knew I hadn't updated the blog for a while, but had no idea it was that long.

I have been busy with all good things - holidaying, sun, BBQ's and family - I've also been busy with things behind the scenes at Scrap Box NZ. Purchasing new products and restocking items that are popular like Glimmermist, Cardstock, Fiskars Blades and Making Memories 12 x 12 Albums to name just a few.

There have been a lot of email's in my inbox with images of wonderful new products getting released from CHA. Some amazing and exciting new collections being offered and so much to choose from. March will be the month to look out for them.

My girls are back to school next week, so I'll have more time on my hands to update the blog and send you more exciting products. Hope you are all enjoying your long weekend.
