Welcome to 2011

Happy New Year to everyone, although a little late.

My family and I have just returned from a great trip away. Started in Franz Josef then Wanaka for 5 nights and on the way home stayed in Christchurch for 2 nights. Avoided the earthquakes but not the nor'wester. We did some real touristy things - kiwi's and hot pools in Franz, amazing waterfalls through Haast area, toy & transport museum, puzzling world at Wanaka. Saw Cromwell & Alexander. Earnslaw, Gondola & Luge at Queenstown and shopped and had Tea at Arrowtown.

We were watching the girls on a playground in Wanaka and a Japanese tourist came up to my husband and said "you have a very beautiful country, you are so lucky, so beautiful". He was so right and it was great to see as much as we did and have the good weather too. Took heaps of photos, so now there is lots of scrapping to do. Something I hope to do more of this year.

Looking forward to a great 2011.

We spent four weeks on the SI in 2004 - you can imagine what our bank balance looked like! It is indeed a beautiful country
