Hope everyone is enjoying there school holidays.

Praire Lane by Kaisercraft - 25% off
I absolutely love these colour combinations - pale blue, chocolate brown & latte. Julia has used some of the Prairie Lane Collection and made some wonderful tags that she has put on cards, and she has also made a small book. Lace, Oakwood and Elm Point are the papers used. They have been teamed up with Bazzill Basics in Nutmeg & Teal OP.
They look stunning - Check out this great collection and save 25%. There are also rub-ons, stamps, diecut elements & alphas in this collection on special too.

Sketch Challenge finishing one day early
Just been checking the calendar and have realised I will be no where near a computer on Monday the 27th to put up the entries for the sketch challenge.
Because of that I am bringing the finishing date forward 24 hours - you have until SATURDAY 25th Sept 2010 at midnight to submit your entries for the Sketch Challenge to fiona@scrapboxnz.com.
I've already received some great layouts from some organised people, but don't panic you still have a week to enter this challenge. Up for graps is a $20 voucher to use in store at Scrap Box NZ. Good Luck!!!

Sports Challenge winner is ...
Esther
This is titled "For the Love of the Game" and those two look like big supporters. Love the layering of the papers, the colours and the inking around the journalling and some of the other papers - makes them stand out! Congratulations Esther, email fiona@scrapboxnz.com for details of your $20 voucher.
Thanks to everyone who entered and I hope you have got some ideas under way for the Sketch Challenge.

Sweet and Simple
A quick and easy altered jar. A nice project to do with an older child perhaps? I recycled a salsa jar, tied varying ribbons around a rubber band, then placed the band around the jar's rim. I then adhered black buttons and ebony flowers randomly on the jar. I used 'Dimensional Magic' for this as it dries clear.
Could be cool to make a craft room set (colour themed?) or a very pretty pink one for hairclips and accessories. An inexpensive wee gift.
Scrap Box Products used: Ribbons, ebony flowers, and Plaid Dimensional Magic.

Christchurch Scrappers
Just a quick note to let you know we are all thinking of you and hoping that you are all safe. Can't quite believe that an earthquake like that could happen and here in Nelson we didn't feel much at all.
The pictures on TV show the extent of the damage but I can't begin to imagine the terror that you all must have felt. How very scary! Do take care and look out for one another.
Our thoughts also are with those Families who's loved ones were among the nine on board the plane crash at Fox Glacier. How precious life is!

The Story
The photo in this layout isn't the best in the world. I didn't have my camera with me and the photo was snapped by the waitress using my cell phone. The important thing is that the moment was captured and the story could then be told.
I used a sketch from http://littleshopofsketches.wordpress.com/
Scrap Box NZ products used: Basic Grey patterned papers and chipboard letter, Pink Paislee alphas, Green Tara leaves, Making Memories pin, Color Box ink, Martha Stewart border punch, Prima flowers, Tattered Angels glimmer mist.
