Top Tip Thursday ...
Try these three ideas in your next layouts.
For a soft, feminine look, print your title on vellum and place over the photo.
Change your photo's to black and white - this allows you to use any colour scheme you wish.
Instead of painting chipboard pieces, ink them so they dry faster.

Innovations Magazine
It is with regret, but it seems very unlikely we will see the third issue of Innovations Scrapbooking Tips & Techniques Magazine.
I received an image of the cover and a promise that the issue would be delivered early August.
I recently got an email from a distributor to say that they have now discovered that the phone at Greenwood Publishing has been disconnected. The house at the address they were renting was vacated three weeks ago with no forwarding address.
They are not receiving any response to emails or messages that are left on Greenwood Publishing's mobile phone.
As I have not be told officially, this is all I can tell you at this stage, but it seems very unlikely that there will ever be a third issue printed and we can only assume that Greenwood Publishing has closed down.

Top Tip Thursday...
yes that is right, top tip has been moved by a couple of days.
TOP TIP: Journaling - some people don't like their own handwriting. I am one of those and I type all my journaling. Shock horror you say!! Well if you are like me, maybe it is time to step out of your comfort zone and use your own handwriting. You can always use hidden journaling, where your journaling tags can be hidden behind photo mats and embellishments. They are then not visible straight away, but can still be read when pulled out. Your handwriting says a lot about you so don't be ashamed of it, it is part of the story telling. If you wish to place a jounaling tag behind your photo, adhere three sides of your photo down and put the tag behind that, with a 'pull' tag that IS visable.

Winner of Boys Boys Boys Challenge
Congratulations to Sarah
What a hard task to decide but Julia liked your layout for the different techniques you used. The music note paper distressed and folded back, cutting round your son gives emphasis to the picture and using the white pen for journalling. It looks great. Drop me an email (fiona@scrapboxnz.com) and I'll give you details for your $20 voucher you have won.
Thanks to everyone who entered. They are all inspiring and show your talents. Have you seen the sketch challenge. Great guide to making a interesting layout.
Just a note to you that the Tuesday Tips & Techniques are now moving to Thursday. The beginning of the week is proving to be too busy and we also didn't want them to be missed with the start and end of challenges.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Oh WOW....
...and what a job I have choosing a winner!!! But without further delay, here is your next challenge.A Sketch Challenge. You need to complete a 12x12 layout based on the above sketch. Turn it on its side or up-side-down. But the layout must resemble the basic sketch above.
Good luck and you have until 30 August 2009 to email your interpretation to fiona@scrapboxnz.com

Ponder this thought ...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Top Tip Tuesday...
...completely slipped my mind last week, sorry bout that. So this week's tip.
TOP TIP: Using vellum. Use of vellum can be tricky to use which sometimes puts people off using it. It is more of how to attach it to a card/layout without the adhesive showing through. You can buy a spray on vellum adhesive but I have never used it and I probably won't. I find the easiest way of attaching vellum is simply using glue dots as these can often be hidden under another embellishment. Or if you are going to mat a photo with it, attach the vellum to your paper/cardstock by hiding the adhesive behind the photo. Vellum can be used in any other way just the same as cardstock and paper. You can tear it, emboss it (for those of you with cuttlebugs) use punches/Cricuts/Silhouette/Wishblade to cut, although it often needs a softer cut setting. You can stamp on it, but my suggestion is to use something like Staz-on as most others with smudge. It is particularly great for softening harsher coloured/patterned papers if you use it over the top of the paper. Plus vellum has its own certain elegance for those special invitations.
Have a great week:)
