interNational Scrapbooking Day

is next Saturday May 7th 2011.

(inter)National Scrapbooking Day was started in 1994 by the well-known album company Creative Memories and is celebrated on the first Saturday in May.

Everyone celebrates a little differently and here at Scrap Box NZ, we are going to have a long weekend sale.

Put it in your diary/on the calendar and starting looking through the site and adding to your wish lists. Check back here during the week for more info.

Love the journaling and the title, sometimes we do wonder why we do things! I'm sure in years to come, people in your family will be very thankful for your hobby!

Email me (fiona@scrapboxnz.com) and I'll give you the details of your $20 voucher.

I'll be back in the afternoon with the next challenge for all of you who are ready to take that on.

Challenge Entries ...

It has obviously been too long since I ran a "scrap challenge". I had a mental block what to do on my post and how to get these amazing layouts here. Now I can see how these layouts are formed with so much space and equipment at hand making it must be a pleasure to scrap in your own space. I use the desk at the end of the shop and try (although some wouldn't think so) to keep it tidy.

I'll be back on the weekend with the announcement of the winning layout, although that's going to be hard work. When these layouts come in I rename and save them again, so when Sally & Julia are looking at them they have no idea who they have come from. They are judged on keeping to the brief for the challenge, techniques used, colours and imagination.

Good luck to you all and thanks so much for being a part of Scrap Box NZ Challenge.

How do you use your time?

Time is free,
but it's priceless.
You can't own it,
but you can use it.
You can't keep it,
but you can spend it.
Once you've lost it,
you can never get it back.

New Products

Finally those long awaited boxes are arriving. Check out the new products - Pink Paislee, My Minds Eye, Echo Park papers, cardstock, charms, embellishments and punches. Will be loading more over the weekend. I've got hold of a new supplier for the Martha Stewart punches and the 1st shipment arrived the other day.

These are just some of the new designs that Scrap Box NZ now has. They have increased in price just a little, but are still great value. I doubt that they will stay around for long - be quick!

Have a great weekend!

Fortnightly Challenge

This challenge is one for you. Create a 12 x 12 layout or canvas about your scrap space. Where and why you do scrap booking? Let your readers know why you create your wonderful layouts and albums for them to enjoy.

Email your creations to
fiona@scrapboxnz.com by midnight Wednesday the 20th of April 2011. A $20 voucher to spend at Scrap Box NZ for the winner.

I've included an option of doing a canvas instead of a 12 x 12 layout. When finished you might want to hang it on your wall and it can inspire you when your loose that "scrapping mojo"!

Here's a photo of my scrap space. A bit messy at the moment as I have been doing cards - It's called "Organised Chaos"!

Good Luck & have fun!

Challenges Start

After a little hiccup with the Website crashing, we are back on track. Challenges will start up again and I'm busy loading new products into the shop. Pop back here on Wednesday morning for the first challenge. This one will run for a fortnight from Wednesday 6th April to Wednesday 20th April. I was going to start them tomorrow, but then realised I will be away from a computer in a fortnights time. Hope April has started well for you.
