Paper Christmas Tree

This is so cute and if you have time, I think would be quite easy to make.  Of course it would look great in colour as well or maybe a group of three.  Love it!

Present Packaging

In the previous post, Sally has the tags all sorted and
here a neat idea for presenting that special present.
The good old brown paper all dressed up!

Authentique

Hi there!  Couldn't reist this gorgeous yummy Authentique sticker sheet that Scrap Box NZ has in.  Such good value.  I used them as a starting point for my Christmas tags.

Other Scrap Box products used:  Seam binding (assorted colours), mini pom pom trim and Kaisercraft background sheet music stamp.

Hope you're enjoying the silly season and not feeling too overwhelmed with all that is happening and needs to be done.  Blessings.  Sally.

Scrapbooked Spoon

Isn't that gorgeous!
Would work well on a wooden spoon or old ladel
- maybe for a "cooking person's" present!
Thanks again Pinterest!

End of Year Dancing!

Wow I'm pleased that's all over.  Both my daughters have been in end of year Dance Concert's for the pass three days.  Different Dance Schools, different venues (20 min's drive from each other) and same times!  One does Hip Hop and the other Jazz.  We've been dropping off and picking up, taking other girls home and getting our girls picked up by relatives.  But we did manage to see them both (one night each) and they did a great job.

Somewhere in between all that we got the Christmas Tree up and the decorations around the house.  Isn't it great to revisit the decorations.  The girls asking when did we make this and where was this one from.  Me saying be careful, as that one from an Auntie that is no longer with us.  That's one's precious and that one's really old.  Among them too are one's from Kindy and School days.  Little photo frames with their pictures in from Preschool.

Love the home made decorations as much as the brought ones.  Pinterest has such inspiration and great ideas - now just to find the time to make them!

A Christmas Set

This one's not from Pinterest, but something I made up.  I was asked by a Mother at school to show some ladies at the Over 50's Club some craft.

So I put together this set.  Gave them a kit with everything in it.  It was all die cut, embossed, stamped & cut to size.  All they needed to do was glue it all together and thread the buttons with bakers twine.  They all enjoyed it and were off to make more lolly bags for Christmas Gifts.

As the number of people who were going to do this worked out less than predicted, I do have Kits for sale.  They are $5.00 a kit (sweets not included)and would be a great  set for your children to make for "Teacher Gifts".  Email fiona@scrapboxnz.com if you would like a set - postage would be $2.10 or could be couriered for $3.00

The Lolly Bag could also be used for Baking, Fudge, Chocolate or Bath Salts, Soap, Bubble Mixture and just by changing the paper on the top could become a Birthday or Thank you present too!

The Silly Season !!!

The 1st of December 2012 - it feels like it's come round so fast!  The Christmas CD's came out today and the Christmas countdown has begun. Even got some shopping done today!

I've just had a lovely time scrolling through Pinterest and finding some amazing images I'm going to share with you over the next 25 days.  There are so many clever and inspiring people out there and great, easy, simple but effective ideas.

Everybodies busy ...

and the "to do" list is getting longer and the days shorter.  Only got two entries, so am a bit disappointed, more for Vicki & Jo who completed the Great Scrap Box NZ Christmas Challenge and were super organised with them sending their entries to me early November.  Below are their entries:

Sketch Layout

Vicki's above & Jo's below

Card Challenge

Jo's above & Vicki's below

and this is where things were going to get
tricky deciding on the best entry!

 Table Centerpiece

Absolutely fabulous ladies - I love receiving challenge entries and see how you interpret them.  A real shame there weren't more entries - always think three or more make it a competition.  Really please that both of you entered and I've decided to split the prize, so you both receive a $40.00 gift voucher to spend at Scrap Box NZ.  Lots of great new products and papers to get loaded onto the site, so keep an eye out and put them in your wish list.

Huge thanks and congratulations to Vicki and Jo - happy shopping!

Missed deadline !!!

Scrap Box NZ's last Sketch Challenge had a great amount of entries - hope the The Scrap Box NZ Great Christmas challenge get's just as many.  I know you are all busy and trying to fit it all in, sometimes we put things down to come back to later.

That's what happened with Nic with the last sketch challenge.  She cropped her layout and saved it, thought I'll send it later and did other things.  Forgot to send it and missed the deadline!  I wanted to share it with you, because as you can see below, she has done a fantastic job!

I love seeing how you all interpret the sketch - thanks Nic and sorry you were late - it's great!  By the way she submitted it the next morning when she remembered and I said I would share it.  I then went off and did other things and forgot about it - till now!  Don't put things off!  Do them when you remember, or write a note to remind yourself otherwise they may not happen at all or you could miss important deadlines !!!

Have a great Labour Weekend everyone!

WOW - Finally Decided!!!

Great to have so many layout to choose from - but wow makes my decision harder.  Love how you all interpet the sketch differently with the subject you choose to use.  Some of you are very clever changing it around too.

Winning layout is:  Trudie Trillo

Congratulation Trudie - really please you took the plunge and entered.  This is Trudie's first time she has entered any challenges and wasn't too sure how to submit it.  I love the white space you have used and can see some glimmermist, doilies and washi tape.  Great subject to use for the sketch.  Well done!  I will email you shortly with the details of your $20.00 voucher.

Thanks to everyone who took part and really hope you will give the "Great Scrap Box NZ Christmas Challenge" a go.  $50.00 winning voucher and spot prizes throughout!

02/10/2012

Nearly the end of the challenges for this year !!!

Great that we got so many entries - although that makes it hard to choose the winner.  Still deciding so will be back later with that winning layout.

Next challenge will be placed on the 15th October 2012.  Let you all enjoy the School Holiday's and use that time to put your thinking caps on.  On the 15th I will reveal to you

The Great Scrap Box NZ
Christmas Challenge

This is going to run for six weeks - finishing on the 25th November 2012.  I know you are all busy, so I've come up with the idea of doing three different things (maybe a layout, off the page & card or something like that), but the difference being you will be given all three challenges on the 15th and they are to be completed by the 25th.  It's time management and all up to you.  If you want to get them all done early and emailed to me that fine.  Spread them out and take your time, or be like me and leave it all till the last minute and panic that you've not going to get them finished.

Keep popping back here to the blog and see the hints that I will give you and more information on how it will all work.  Hope it doesn't scare you off and you are all keen to have a go.  This will be the last challenge for the year.

Sketch Challenge Entries

Some people out there must have been busy recruiting people to do the challenges. If that's you - thank you so much - Yay!  Last challenge I had one entry from Brenda and this time I've got EIGHT entries.  Thanks so much to you all for entering and especially those that haven't entered before.  A couple are new to challenges all together and this is their first time submitting a layout.  Hope the bug catches on!  Good Luck to everyone!

Just in case you forgot what the sketch looked like - it's below, along with your interpretations of the sketch.
