Prairie Lane....

....Julia style. These papers are just fabulous to work with. I had so much fun playing with a couple from the Prairie Lane range by KaiserCRAFT

I have used Elm Point and Oakwood for this project. I found some cheap children's board books and altered them to make a beautiful keepsake album. For those of you doing my classes, we will be doing this on Tuesday.

Other product used are Cardstock in Nutmeg, Pinecone, Splash OP, Green Tara Flowers in 7cm, as well as some Transparency to add some clear pages, manila tag, and lace. Buttons, Chipboard shapes, and embroidery thread.

Petal Pushers

So I saw this range and to be honest I wasn't sure it was 'me'- mainly because I usually go for vintage, not brights and I have boys! HOWEVER..... they are double sided people (not all pink LOL) and because of the bright colours in kid's clothes and toys it was easy to match to photos AND was very fun to play with. Definitely extended me with paper choice- thanks Fiona :) .... I can feel some cute wee tags coming on....

Photo Challenge

Do you take heaps of photo's but end up using only one on a layout. Well here's a challenge for you.

Create a 12 x 12 layout using 3 photo's or more.

They don't have to be the same sized photo's. Try different sized or shaped photo's, changing the colours in the photo, enlarging a detail from the main photo, repeat one photo or use them as a filmstrip. That will give you some ideas.

Please email finished layouts to Fiona at fiona@scrapboxnz.com by midnight 1st August 2010. Good luck and have fun!

Mid Winter Christmas - challenge entries

These are wonderful and show how challenges are interpreted differently. Everyone has there own take on what is set and it's great to see what you all come up with. Thanks to those who have submitted these layouts.

I'll be back later in the day to set the next challenge - enjoy your day (now that the kids are back at school!!!).

My trip to Senz in Christchurch

I had a quick trip to SENZ in Christchurch, just flew down for the day. It was great to see what SENZ was all about, as you hear lots of stories as the SENZ date gets close. I must say I was a little disappointed, I thought it was going to be bigger, but then what was there was great.

Julia and my sister meet me there and had a little spend (ok we we had a budget blowout!!!) but came away with some goodies.
It was neat to see how the products are used and come away with some ideas.

Great to catch up with some clients, saw some of my suppliers and now have put faces to names. Quite a few familiar faces from Nelson. Hope everyone who went had a great time!

SENZ is on this weekend at Riccarton Raceway Events Centre from the 16th - 18th July 2010.

For all those lucky enough to be going to SENZ in Christchurch - have a great time and for those of you who aren't going, I'm sure you will hear the stories about new products and hopefully see some of the items produced at the workshops.

I know of quite a few that are going down. Julia left with family today and hopefully I will catch up with her at SENZ. I'm flying down just for the day, but hope to come back with some great ideas to share, and some new products that Scrap Box NZ can add to the selection of products that we already carry. I'm meeting with a new supplier at the Airport. They have just become the newly appointed distributors for some high quality scrapbooking and cardmarking products that will soon be available in New Zealand.
